RF IDeas eIDC Ethernet Intelligent Door Controller

The eIDC (Ethernet Intelligent Door Controller) is a software-free (use your Internet browser like Microsoft's IE) approach to door access systems. This controller supports proximity or state-of-the-art contactless smart card reader technologies in an access control system that is very simple to install and operate. This access control system was designed to be installed and operated by the novice without compromising on features provided by much more complicated systems. A typical installation includes all the connections necessary for a high degree of security at the point of entry. The customer greatly benefits from the product's unique single ethernet cable, which reduces installation costs. Additionally, the browser based approach with its simple navigation and easy-to-use features, saves time and the costs associated.

General Specifications

• Smallest controller on the market: 1.7 x 2.8 x 1.3 inches

• Supports a local database of 64,000 card holders when connected to a Supervisor Plus server or up to 10,000 card holders in stand-alone Web server mode

• 16,000 local event buffering

• Two reader ports support independently programmable proximity readers, with or without keypads, or any logic device, such as an egress button or REX device, providing a combination of control for both entrance and exit for a single door

• Supports DHCP and Static IP addresses

• Provides encrypted communication

• Embedded Web server provides complete control of the device without the need for a server for stand-alone doors

• Integrated, non-mechanical, infrared tamper sensor for high reliability and precision

• Built-in warning buzzer provides a local alarm without requiring an external alarm device

eIDC Features

• Power over Ethernet | This revolutionary technology allows users to plug eIDC into any existing Ethernet Network using standard CAT 5 or CAT 6 cable to take advantage of running power and data on a single cable for increased efficiency.

• Powers Peripherals | RF IDeas' eIDC delivers up to 1 A @ 12 VDC of power for all door hardware including locks and readers, reducing cabling costs and installation time.

• Native IP Connectivity | There is no need for bridges or media connectors since IP technology is built into every IDC unit. Additionally, every IDC supports DHCP for automatic IP addressing. There is no need for dip switches or cumbersome system settings.

• Embedded Web Server | Using the embedded Web server allows for easy commissioning of the eIDC system. It also eliminates the need for software in stand-alone, single-door systems.

• Peer-to-Peer Communications | RF IDeas' eIDC operates in a true Peer-to-peer environment, which allows the controllers to continue to communicate even if connection to a server is temporarily interrupted.

• The optional POE (power over ethernet) adapter accepts your RJ45 ethernet cable, and pig-tail power supply leads from a 24vdc 1A supply and the output side provides RJ45 connection to a POE output.
